046: The Creative Market
It is like dancing. You feel like you are dancing in the middle of the room and everyone is looking at you. Eventually you realise that, really, you are somewhere in a corner, sort of vaguely swaying from side to side, maybe shuffling your feet a little, repeating moves you have seen other dancers to, and hoping that they do not notice you. At the same time, you sort of would like to be out there in the middle.
So you do some steps. Some moves you have seen elsewhere. You add some gestures, and maybe you try to do something you have not seen anywhere. Just a little bit, to spice it up and make the dance feel like it is yours.
Then the people next to you start to notice, and they start to copy. So you create a little bit more. And then more. And more. Until you are no longer repeating what you have seen elsewhere, but doing your own steps. Your own moves. It is inspired by what you have seen, but it is definitely your own. It is your dance. Before you know it, people make way and you are out there, you are noticed, and now all you have to do is keep it up. Keep dancing. Keep creating.
