Submission Guidelines

The Quarantine Journal was created in response to COVID-19 and the effects the virus had on our society. As editors and writers, we recognise that this is a global experience where everyone is going through something. Therefore we would like to invite contributors from all over the world to share something they have written during COVID-19.

We created The Quarantine Journal as an informal space for writers to test their limits. We are not looking for lists of previous publications or proof of being experienced writers—in fact, most of the editors and writers are relatively inexperienced. This is a chance for us to have some fun and try out something new, at the same time as we develop and improve our writing.

We do, however, look for well-formulated writing, which includes everything from the basics of writing (such as spelling and grammar) to evidence of a writing voice and editing. We also expect our guidelines to be adhered to.

Guidelines:
  • Word count: maximum 1,000; minimum 200
  • Language: English
  • Include a title at the top of the page
  • Include your name or the name you wish to publish by under the title, as well as links to any social media account you would like us to direct our readers to. If you wish to remain anonymous in publication, please write 'Anonymous' under the title.

Please submit it in either PDF or Word Doc/Docx to theqjournal@gmail.com. We accept more than one submission from the same contributor, but would prefer if you kept it to a maximum of two contributions per week.

We look forward to reading some wonderful submissions, and to working with you!
