059: The Angel on the Moor

You know how every village has a secret? Ours is the Angel on the moor. We have all seen it out there, but we do not talk about it. It is something we do not understand or want to meddle with, so we turn away and pretend we never saw it. But if it is a late night, if everyone has had enough to eat and drink, if we feel safe inside our walls, if we believe that nothing can happen on such a night ... then we might whisper. We might bring up the last time we saw the Angel, or the last time someone disappeared on the moor. We might shudder at its white light and pray for everyone's safety, for although we call it an Angel, we do not know what it is. We have never known. We are terrified.
