099: Behind the Illusion
Seeing it from the outside, anyone would have thought it a dark and eerie place. Moss covers the stems, and fungus and lichen hang like ropes from the branches. But once you get past the first few trees, you find a spongy floor, soft and cool, with a knotted root poking through here and there, and the occasional branch reaching down to lend you a hand. Sunlight twists between these stems, splattering the moss with gold and small woodland stars. Maybe you hear a bird twittering above you, or see the legs of a deer disappear ahead of you, and you start to realise—the outer wall is but an illusion.
