102: A Life of Tenancy

We are tenants in our own bodies, renting a beating heart and functioning lungs. We sign the agreement when we are born, although we are not aware of it until much later. The agreement? To live out our allotted time in the body we are given. Our first wail is our signature, our breath is our reminder, and our time is the payment. It is like choosing a room or a house to live in, but while we carefully select the place to live in, the agreement for a life says that it will be handed out at random. We will have to take what we get and use it wisely.
