111: Carrots to Brighten Your Day
I saw them at the market the other day. Sitting next to the windows in a café, I peered down at the vegetable stalls. About the same height, one held a bundle of carrots by the leaves, showing it off to the other. There was an anomaly to one of the carrots that made it look like a mandrake root. They were laughing. The one holding the carrots watched the other, laughter turning into a soft smile. They bought the carrots and wandered on, hands clasped and fingers intertwined.
I finished my coffee, the sun just a little bit brighter.
